Alexandria-Area Students Selected for 2013 Virginia Honors Choir

The students are from Edison and West Potomac High Schools and Hayfield Secondary School.

Three students from Alexandria-area schools were named as vocal musicians for the 2013 Virginia Honors Choir.

The students are from West Potomac High School and Hayfield Secondary School.

The following students were chosen:

  • Erik Kovatch from Hayfield Secondary School
  • Anjum Choudhury and William Havrenek from West Potomac High School
A total of 35 students from Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) were selected for the choir, which is open to the top 125 singers from around the Commonwealth of Virginia, according to a news release from FCPS. Five students were named alternates, including McKenzie Sterner from Edison High School.

The students will perform at the Virginia Music Educators Association (VMEA) convention on Nov. 23 at the Homestead in Hot Springs, Va.
