The company selected 204 U.S. schools to be a part of the program for 2013-2014.

BJ's Wholesale recently announced 204 elementary schools that have been selected to be a part of the company's 2013-2014 Adopt-a-School Program. Among those schools all across the U.S. is Kingstowne's own Lane Elementary School located at 7137 Beulah St.

The Adopt-a-School Program is in its 18th year and has served more than 2,575 elementary schools across the 15 states in which the company has various locations. According to a recent news release, each of this year's chosen schools will receive a $500 check to use for field trips, special events, new equipment or curriculum enhancements, as well as a one-year membership.

“Supporting educational programs is an important focus area for BJ’s Wholesale Club’s charitable giving,” said Jessica Newman, assistant vice president of community affairs atBJ's Wholesale Club in a prepared statement. “Our hope is that the schools use this business-to-school partnership to help provide students with opportunities they may not otherwise have.”
