"We're looking forward to how we are going to handle their press because they're a pressure team that likes to trap," Poindexter said. "If we're able to handle their trap, I think we'll have a successful night.

Amir Atkins who plays guard and forward and is one of the captains for the Hawks will keep the team encouraged throughout the game. Poindexter said he's an all-around strong player for the team.

"Amir Atkins is our overall leader, as far as scoring, defense and motivator. So he does it all for us," Poindexter said. "We have a lot of players who do this, but Amir Atkins is our leader."

The Hawks will also be wearing yellow shoe strings for Pediatric Cancer Night to raise awareness. The Hayfield varsity girls team will play against Herndon in a home game at 7:30 p.m.
