Edison High School to Get New Turf Field

Lee District Supervisor Jeff McKay's office confirms the proper funds have been acquired to move forward with the project.

Installing a new artificial turf field at Edison High School is currently going through the engineering phase, according to Linda Waller, director of communications for the Office of Supervisor Jeff McKay.

Waller said $450,000 has been transferred from the Liberty View proffer to Fairfax County Public Schools to help fund the turf field, and the project is moving forward. As the project progresses, other proffers will contribute funds to complete the project.

Benefits of a turf field include the ability to conduct sports events during inclement weather and decreasing the chances of injuries during matches.
