Edison Students Complete Apprenticeship Exams

Forty-six students completed the FCPS Adult and Community Education test.

Forty-six Edison Academy students in the Edison Academy Electrical Construction and Engineering and Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC&R) classes completed the Fairfax County Public Schools Adult and Community Education (ACE) apprenticeship testing, according to a recent news release. Completing the test was a part of the students' high school trade and industrial education curriculums.

Students in the program get a head start on transforming themselves from unskilled helpers to skilled adults in a specific field. Graduates who have completed the hgh school academy’s Electrical or HVAC&R programs plus ACE testing are able to show future employers they are knowledgeable workers and will be a good investment for companies who sponsor their completion of the Virginia apprenticeship program.

The academy's Electrical and HVAC&R students can choose to continue their studies with ACE either while employed as an apprentice for a sponsoring company or on their own to build their skills and knowledge.
