Island Creek's 'Croc Trot' Registration is Now Open

The elementary school is hosting its 5th Annual 5K Croc Trot April 27.

Island Creek Elementary School PTA has officially opened registration for its 5th Annual 5K Croc Trot. The run will start at 7:30 a.m. April 27 rain or shine. There will also be a 1K Fun Run for younger participants starting at 8:30 a.m.

Last year, the Croc Trot had more than 150 participants, including 55 students running and jogging in 50-degree weather.

To register for this year's event, visit DC Roadrunners or you can register by printing the Fact Sheet and Registration Form and returning the completed registration form to the PTA. Those interested in participating can also take a look at the route by visiting the website for the Island Creek PTA.

The website will be open for registration until 6 p.m. on April 26. After that date, on-site registration rates will apply. Police support and safety marshalls will be stationed along the course. There will be one water station at the halfway point.

  • $20 Adult (18+) participating in 7+ race training sessions [PDF]
  • $10 Student (17 & under)
  • $0 Student (17 & under) running with two adult family members
  • $0 For students who have Completed at least 7 training runs (no shirt)
  • $0 1 Mile fun run (not timed)

Race day registration:

  • $30 Adult (18+)
  • $15 Student (17 & under)
  • $0 Student (17 & under) running with two adult family members

This year's event is being sponsored by Walker's Grill; Red, Hot & Blue; Ingrid Hunsicker Photography and; Tom & Cindy and Associates at Long & Foster.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Island Creek Elementary PTA enrichment programs, technology renewal (mobile computer labs), cultural initiatives (field trips) as well as professional education, fitness and recreation, and other programs for the Island Creek students.
