A technology teacher at died on Saturday, Jan. 14 due to complications from a surgery.

School Principal Aimee Holleb informed the Mark Twain community in an email Sunday, Jan. 15, through the Fairfax County Public Schools' Keep in Touch (KIT) system.

Dear Mark Twain MS Community,

Our community mourns the loss of Technology Teacher Lori Riddick. She passed away yesterday due to complications from a surgery.

Mrs. Riddick worked with 7th graders, 8th graders and many former Twain students. She taught Computer Solutions, Digital Input Technology, and Advanced Computer Solutions. Mrs. Riddick cared deeply about our students, her curriculum, and moving students forward with 21st Century Technology Skills as a dedicated and valued MTMS staff member. She will be greatly missed.

I will share this news with our student body on Tuesday via MTTV (our morning news show) and we will be speaking with each of her classes on Tuesday and Wednesday. In addition, our clinical team and school counseling team will be available for any students who are in need of emotional support. Please keep your child's counselor posted if your child is in need of extra support from any of our clinical team. 703-313-3700.

Sincerely,

Aimee Holleb
Principal
