Battle of the Birds: The Edison Eagles to Take On the Hayfield Hawks in Field Hockey

The claws will come out Monday evening, as the Edison Eagles varsity field hockey teams go head-to-head with the Hayfield Hawks. The teams will take it to the field in what has become known as the Battle of the Birds.

Edison Head Coach Ginger White said this is the Fifth Annual Battle of the Birds game between the two rival schools. The JV game begins at 4 p.m. at Edison High School, and the varsity game will start at 5:15 p.m. Admission for the games is $5.

During Monday's Battle of the Birds, Edison will also be celebrating the Class of 2014 Senior Night. Monday's game is sponsored by Red, Hot and Blue, who will be at the game selling barbecue.

So support your local sports, enjoy some barbecue and watch the teams compete for this year's Battle of the Birds trophy.
