Edison Boys Face Westfield in Northern Region Basketball Final Tonight

Eagles will go to the state tournament for the first time since 1970.

The Edison boys’ varsity basketball team will play in the Virginia AAA Northern Region final tonight.

The Eagles (19-8) defeated Fairfax High School in a gripping 69-64 overtime win on Saturday, Feb. 25.

According to the Washington Post, Eagle senior center Matt Murphy scored 24 points in a win that secured Edison a place in the state tournament for the first time since 1970. Senior Tyrone Mackall scored all eight of Edison’s points during overtime.
