Lee HS Hires New Boys Lacrosse Coach, Baseball Coach

Chris Mulieri will lead the lacrosse team and Matthew MacDonald will become head coach for the baseball team.

Lee High School recently announced that it has hired Chris Mulieri as the new boys lacrosse coach. The school also hired Matthew MacDonald as the new baseball coach, according to a recent news release.

Mulieri grew up in Severna Park, Md., and is a 1991 graduate of the United States Naval Academy. While at the Naval Academy, he played lacrosse for four years and helped Navy reach the NCAA playoffs in both 1988 and 1989. He has remained active in lacrosse by coaching at the youth and high school levels, according to the Lee High School athletics department.

MacDonald is a special education teacher at Lee High School. This will be his seventh year as a coach in Fairfax County and first year as varsity head baseball coach at Lee.

MacDonald has spent the last two summers as a head coach for the Bradley Baseball Academy 15U and 16U teams. According to the news release, played high school baseball in Virginia Beach for Princess Anne High School, and played college baseball at Shenandoah University in Winchester.

He was named Conference Rookie of the Week three times during his first season, and won Rookie of the Year for his team.
