Ralph Northam at Greenspring, College Night and Help the Homeless

Here are a few things you should know about in northern Virginia this week.

This week, there's plenty going on in the northern Virginia area. Don't miss out on some of these events scheduled for the week of Oct. 21.

  • Last night to participate in the Fairfax County Public Schools' College Fair and College Night is Monday. The event will take place at Hayfield Secondary School in the Kingstowne area at 7 p.m.
  • Candidate for lieutenant governor Senator Ralph Northam will visit the Greenspring retirement community to speak to the community at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
  • The Fall Orchestra Concert at West Potomac High School is scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. Come out enjoy local students' talent after hours of practice to perfect their performances. This event is free to the public.
  • Virginia Hills Baptist Church will hold a Pumpkin Patch throughout October benefiting a variety of missions of the church.  Pumpkin Patch hours are 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.
  • United Community Ministiries annual Help the Homeless Campaign -- UCM's biggest community fundraising event of the year --  is happening now! Find out how you can help.
