The Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Department was established in 1949 and now includes 37 fire and rescue stations in the county. It is both a career and volunteer-based organization with highly qualified, trained firefighters who serve an area population of slightly over 1 million. The Telegraph Road station is located off a busy road, but there's a spacious parking area which surrounds the station.
