I saw the first sign for Walker's Grille when I went to the INOVA hospital for x-rays. I assumed it was basically a lunch place--sandwiches and such-- for the offices and hospital and didn't really think of it as a place to go out for dinner or the weekends. Last week, I started up a conversation with someone in line at the Kingstowne movie theater who said they gone there that night for dinner because they couldn't get into one of the Kingtowne restaurants and recommended it. So Sunday afternoon, my son and I had brunch there. The food was good. They have a very interesting and unique menu. A sort of nouvelle southern cuisine but with other additions. There is a separate menu for lunch, brunch, and dinner. I had the L'eouf Burger which was steak and egg, with apple smoked bacon and muenster cheese on top. It came with some of the most delicious fries. My son had the waffle with a fruit kabob and real maple syrup. The food was tasty. The service friendly and good. We did a problem but it was quickly corrected. The atmosphere nice. It wasn't busy when we were there so I can't answer how the service and food would be if were really busy. Overall, I think it is a great alternative to Bonefish, Macaroni Grill, or Mike's. I get the sense that it is indeed a small business and not part of chain either locally or nationally. I hope that people discover it and it is given a chance to succeed. As an area we need good restaurants.

Just celebrated the first anniversary of Walkers Grille with a fantastic four-course meal. A not-too-expensive restaurant with a varied menu and extensive wine list. Try the chicken francaise.
