Isn't Northrup Grumman a major federal contractor? Not surprised about the bank (Capital One) andRead More the utility company (Dominion). Was surprised about Dollar Tree.

Well, that's just about right, the average of the top 10 CEO salaries in VA is 390x that of theRead More average worker salary of $45,000. US Avg is 475x. Don't know why the average worker is complaining about wage stagnation and lack of jobs. Poor CEOs must work so hard to keep all that money out of the tax man's hands and the grubby hands of the worker! How can they possibly survive otherwise?

Do you people see what's going on here? This country is being destroyed by the Democrats! It is starting to resemble The a Soviet Union! We should change the name of this country to the USSA!

Mark, Your words are absolutely disgusting. Please do not use this comment thread as a vehicle toRead More spew your racist mentality. And for your information, food-borne illnesses come from agriculture, period. All around the world, including in the U.S. Lastly, your hatred for people of colour does not mean that you understand disease, at all. Good luck in life.

Better stores but still looks like a mall vs. a "town center". Yawn.
AND April 2, 2014 at 12:20 pm

Safeway could be bought. (Patch file photo.)
Fairfax Watcher March 7, 2014 at 03:39 pm
WELL...............no worries for those Kroger lovers or haters as SAFEWAY went to Albertson'sRead More owner, CERBERUS. CERBERUS plans on reforming Safeway stores to look/feel like Trader Joe's.

It's always that "evil Walmart" with Lefties...

Yes, an investment in economic development. MD & P.G. Co. are investing in National HarborRead More including a gambling casino attraction and other amenities along with the creative investment strategy listed here in this article. Old Town has looked ahead to capitalize on the attractions on the other side of the river by increasing hotel space and working with National Harbor to get visitors to use Old Town as a destination during their stay across the river. Fairfax County across from National Harbor on the US Route 1 or Richmond Highway corridor seemingly anticipates gamblers in need of fast and easy loans given the proliferation of Car Title Loan Businesses popping up like mushrooms. Can't imagine the VA legislature concerning itself with much more than bills that seek to limit human rights, abortion rights, economic rights, health care rights, environmental rights, voter rights or any other progressive effort that give more rights to citizens. Just another bass ackward state of the old Confederacy that can't fully acknowledge modernity.

This delay IF indeed it is due to the County's inability to review and issue permits in anRead More acceptable time frame should be a strong message to Chairman Bulova and Supervisor McKay!! The rhetoric coming from the County is "Fairfax is good for business", really? Ask most any developer or business who is trying to process paperwork thru the County and they off-record will tell the real truth of delays and Mickey-mouse stuff that have cost them real money and schedule slips!! Come on Fairfax County get it together...its the 21st Century and you are thinking 19th Century! Sorry Wegmans you and important others will have to pay your time dues to the biggest County in the world! Enjoy your 1st tax bill!
The Horses Mouth January 27, 2014 at 09:57 am
I couldn't agree more with you Fairfax Watcher! It would be nice if Chairman Bulova and SupervisorRead More McKay would wake up and smell the coffee!! I can tell you first hand, ALL of the delays start and end with getting the permits thru the County!! It often takes more time to get the permits thru the County system than it takes to complete the actual build out of the commercial location. What's wrong with this picture? I suppose Chairman Bulova and Supervisor McKay are fine with Fairfax County tax payers going to Wegman's in Prince William County instead of capturing those tax dollars here!
