Nice article and fun facts. Not sure what forecast you're looking at, though. Mine says snow TuesdayRead More night!

Spring snow, Arva! The old man's dead. Or so I wish. " (We'll consider Tuesday's chance of snowRead More showers a brief evil side of spring.)"

It may be spring, but there is a chance of snow Tuesday night into Wednesday of next week.

Cliff Hardison was one those rare educators who went beyond what was expected of him to go thatRead More extra mile for outside his school's walls to work with the community on projects such as special education students and mentor groups. Employees outside his school who just needed a kind word. He will be so solely missed by all of us.

So very sorry to hear this. She was such a nice person and someone that cared very deeply for theRead More welfare of children of all ages and needs. Those of us in the "South Hunt Valley" area, worked closely with her during the redistricting efforts for South County High School when it opened. She was instrumental in helping us get into our home, West Springfield High School and we are forever grateful. Rest in Peace and peace to her family.

I remember to this day, not only was I told of my scout leader's death, but how it happened. It wasRead More said in a very simple way that "Miss Jones" was killed when (something she was hit by while riding the buss (named the something) and then the whole subject was dropped. The statement could have been "she has moved away" or something of that sort. That was way back there before WWII. Any statement should be as simple as possible and no distress by the speaker added to the words. I was sorry "Miss Jones" died but accepted the statement and of course that there would be no more girl scouts in our school.

I read that comment in the forum. I believe the reason why there was such a debate was because theRead More original post was written callously and the throught she'd mention something to them about this. In time of sadness and grief there is disbelief and shock. The teachers probably were not thinking when they blurted out that Ms Casey had been killed. Sad this happening but sadder yet when people dont have feelings and believe the world revolves around their child.

This evening at Rose's house was wonderful. I'm so glad I was able to finally meet everyone. It wasRead More nice to be able to put a face with a name. I want to thank Rose and her daughters for opening up their home to the community. Thank you all again for all your support. I would also like to give a special thanks to Peace and Love Ministry for giving me inspiration and the push to do Gods work, and giving me the vision to help those in need. Roger and Patricia Hall the founders of Peace and Love have been an amazing team in mentoring me to spread the love of God. Sincerely Donna Musleh

Thank you Rose and Rose's daughters for hosting such a warm event to remember Saniye. It was soRead More good to meet some of Franconia's angels tonight. God bless you all for your caring hearts. Maybe something that will help others in need can be started in memory and honor of Saniye.

A special thank you to all those who reached out to Saniye and helped her feel a part of ourRead More community. Clearly she stayed here because she felt safe and was cared for in a way that was meaningful to her. For the rest of us who watched from afar, may her death and life story bring understanding about the homeless and allow us to reach out past our fears. Because as for Sanije and many others, the road to becoming homeless is surprisingly short.

I have frequented the Woodlawn Roy Rogers alot over the years. I ate their with my wife in July andRead More Jeff Todd was there that day. He could have gotten a low level employee to wash the windows of the building, but he was doing it himself. One could see he took pride in his establishment and was a hands-on owner who seemed a regular guy and probably saw himself that way. I was saddened when I saw the sign at the door of the restaraunt announcing Jeff's passing. God bless his family during this tragic time.

Don't know the man ... I wish I did. I remember being treated so warmly by the manager at theRead More Manchester Lakes Roys ... can't help to think this was a reflection of the owner and what he expected.

Jeff and Becky started their family and their legacy here in Rose Hill. He remained a friend to theRead More community and the Franconia Museum. I was fortunate to be able to call him a friend, just as I had his dad. The transition from dad to son as far as community and family spirit is concerned was a marvel to behold. Needles to say, we'll miss him. We pledge our prayers and support for Becky and the children. Carl Sell, president Rose Hill Civic Association
