Lee District Republican Committee to Host Candidate Forum for Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General Candidates

The Ken Cuccinelli campaign and local organizations will speak briefly during the forum Thursday night; the event is open to the public.

The Lee District Committee and Colonial Republican Women will host a candidate forum for lieutenant governor and attorney general candidates from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Virginia Hills Center in Alexandria. A chance to speak socially with candidates and others in attendance will begin at 6:30 p.m. Each of the lieutenant governor and attorney general candidates were invited to speak at the event, and according to Lee District Republican Chairman Susan Valentine, all nine campaigns have confirmed their participation. Each candidate or a representative from their campaign will have five minutes to speak. Congressional Candidates Talk Affirmative Action, Sequestration at Forum

Northern Virginia Urban League Young Professionals Network hosted event Wednesday night in Arlington.

The Northern Virginia Urban League Young Professionals Network held a candidate forum for the 8th Congressional District on Wednesday to encourage its members to "occupy the vote." The forum featured incumbent Democratic Rep. Jim Moran, who left after giving opening remarks and answering the first two questions, with Arlington's Terron Sims II speaking on his behalf for the rest of the night; independent candidate Jason Howell; and Independent Green Janet Murphy. Republican Patrick Murray was invited but declined to attend and did not send a surrogate, organizers said.
