Two-car accident blocked intersection Sunday afternoon.
Traffic on Franconia Road moved slowly around a two-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon. FCPD received a report about the accident around 12:30 p.m. and arrived two minutes later. As a result of the accident, one of the cars appeared to have slammed into the median of the street. The two cars involved in the crash blocked the road and caused minor congestion at the intersection of Franconia Road and Beulah Street, less than a mile from the Franconia District Police Station and the Franconia Volunteer Fire Station, according to FCPD communications. Medical examiner can't release information on whether Casey Noriega suffered any sort of seizure before her car hit a pole.
Local Gymboree teacher Casey Noriega died of "blunt chest and abdomen trauma" Dec. 10 when the car she was driving struck a pole at Beulah Street and Windsor Avenue in Kingstowne, and the manner was ruled an accident, the Virginia Medical Examiner's Office said Wednesday. It is still uncertain whether the 29-year-old mother who left behind a son suffered any sort of seizure or attack prior to the car accident that took her life because the medical examiner's office cannot release that information, according to Nancy Bull, district administrator, Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Northern District. The Code of Virginia classifies any information regarding a medical examiner case as confidential and allows the Office of the Chief Medical…

Casey Noriega's family awaits results of state medical examiner's office autopsy.
The Fairfax County Police Department is looking into the possibility that Casey Noriega, the 29-year-old gym teacher and mother who was killed Saturday when her car struck a pole in Kingstowne, may have died before the crash, according to family friends. FCPD investigates all fatal accidents and it's possible Noriega could have suffered from some medical condition prior to the crash, said FCPD spokesman Don Gotthardt. The state medical examiner's office determines on a case-by-case basis whether someone dies from a medical condition or the blunt force trauma of a car accident, he said. Noriega's fatal accident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. Saturday, after she left her job at Gymboree Music and Arts, 318 S. Pickett St., where she was a …

I am sorry but do you have children? I do not think that this is an instance of coddling a child but rather them not fully understanding exactly what happened to begin with. Explaining death to a 2 year old is not something that is easy. And what is even more sad is that you are comparing parents discretions to policitians. That is ridiculous!   more ›
