Office Building in Kingstowne Still Without Confirmed Leases

Construction on the building will be completed next month.

Construction on the office building next to Kohl's in Kingstowne is nearing completion, but as of Tuesday Jones Lang LaSalle hasn't confirmed any leases for the space. Broker David Stoudt said the marble tiles for the lobby area have been received and the building should be ready by June. Stoudt said businesses have shown some interest in the space but no leases have been signed. Previously, Stoudt told Patch the questions surrounding sequestration and the Northern Virginia economy could be the reason prospective tenants have not yet confirmed leases. In June, Jones Lang LaSalle will begin hosting broker events to drum up more interest in the space. The office building is 113,500 sq. ft. and is owned by the Halle Companies, which also owns…

Completion of Office Building Pushed to June

Construction in the lobby area will take longer than expected due to issues with ordering marble for the floors.

The office building currently under construction in the Kingstowne area will be complete in June instead of by the end of this month, said David Stoudt with Jones Lang LaSalle. Stoudt said the building will be all but complete next month except for the lobby. The owner is currently dealing with ordering marble for the floor, which is taking longer than expected. The office building is currently still generating a lot of interest, but Stoudt said they still have not confirmed any leases for the space. Because of this, the individual spaces in the building are not designed. In December, Stoudt told Patch the questions surrounding sequestration and the Northern Virginia economy could be the reason prospective tenants have not yet confirmed …

Construction on Office Building to be Completed in February

No leases for the office space have been signed.

Construction on the office building at the corner of Kingstowne Boulevard and South Van Dorn Street will be completed by March 1, said broker for the property David Stoudt of Jones Lang LaSalle. The space is 110,000 sq. ft. and is owned by the Halle Company, which also owns parts of Kingstowne Towne Center. Stoudt said 5,000 sq. ft. is for potential retail space on the ground floor of the property. Work on the individual spaces inside the building have not been completed. As of Tuesday afternoon, no leases were signed for the space but LeSalle has received many inquiries. Stoudt said many of the inquiries about the property are from governmental agencies, and the questions surrounding sequestration could be the reason those prospects haven…

Before the Bulldozers: Pictures from Lewin Park

Photos from a vacant Kingstowne neighborhood

Lewin Park, a neighborhood at the corner of Beulah and the Franconia-Springfield Parkway, doesn't have any residents anymore. Most of its 20 homes are boarded up, and the streets are covered with dead leaves.  Eventually, Lewin Park will become Liberty View, a development with a hotel and 750,000 square feet of office space in four buildings, according to developer Monument Reality. Natasha Stancill-Richman, a spokesperson for Monument, wrote in an email that the company will have more information about the project in 2012. Until then, here's how Lewin Park looks—before the construction begins but after the residents left.
