Man Arrested For Allegedly Selling Drugs Outside 7-Eleven

Police say suspect carried marijuana in his hat.

A Rose Hill man has been arrested and charged with selling narcotics outside of a 7-Eleven, according to police and documents obtained by Patch. Melvin Williams, of the 5100 block of Celtic Drive, was arrested on July 11 after allegedly selling marijuana to an undercover officer. Williams was approached by the undercover officer, Fairfax County Police Department Detective Michael J. Boyle, as Williams exited the 7-Eleven at 6146 Rose Hill Drive. Boyle started talking to Williams about purchasing marijuana, according to an affidavit he signed in support of warrant to search Williams's apartment. Williams allegedly  told the detective he could get him a "quarter" of marijuana, but the detective told him he only needed a "dub"--slang for $20 …

Lincolnia Home Searched For Synthetic Marijuana

Police took capsules, six guns, scales from house.

Police searched a Lincolnia home Sunday on suspicions that it was being used to produce synthetic marijuana, according to a search warrant. Police found a variety of capsules and solvents, as well as ammunition and firearms. The townhouse came to police attention when officers on patrol tried to serve an arrest warrant there, according to an affidavit filed by an undercover officer in the Fairfax County Police Department. A person in the building gave police permission to enter to search for the person they were trying to serve. While searching the townhouse's basement, according to the affidavit, an officer noticed baggies, a digital scale, white powder, "a green leafy substance," and drug paraphernalia. We'll run the crimes from the greater Rose Hill area and highlight the most notable ones at the top. Here is the report from July 3 to July 9, 2011. Police Find LSD, DMT, Marijuana in Springfield Drug Raid

The Fairfax County Police Department found several illegal drugs in Springfield earlier this month. The search, performed on June 14 in a house on the 6200 block of Greeley Boulevard in Springfield, yielded marijuana; nitrous; hashish; LSD; and even DMT, a psychedelic drug. According to an affidavit submitted by an undercover FCPD officer, the Springfield house came to police attention in the winter of 2010, when FCPD received a tip from a drug user informant that marijuana was sold out of the house. In April and June, police successfully bought marijuana twice from the house, using the informant as a purchaser. Franconia Police Relaunch Prescription Drug Fraud Team

Team will operate until early June

Franconia District Station police are relaunching a prescription drug fraud task force, after a previous team found success in prosecuting offenders. Officer Donna Shaw, a member of the team, said at a Wednesday Citizen Advisory Commitee meeting that prescription drug fraud is not new in the area, but that it has recently increased. The five-member team will operate from April 9 until June 6. The previous team ran from February 14 of this year until March 11, and handled 50 cases, 46 of which were closed by identifying an alleged culprit.
