The development requires entrance improvements for when it opens in 2014.

Hi Mike, That portion of Telegraph is being improved by widening the road a little bit. The improvements also include reconstructing the entrance to Huntley Meadows Park. Here's a story that was previously written about this project. http://patch.com/A-2S7y   more ›

Elevation Burger — a restaurant chain established in 2002 — will open at the soon-to-be Hilltop Village Center with Wegmans in Kingstowne next year, said franchise owner Neeraj Vohra in an email to Patch. The restaurant, which specializes in "an elevated product that is fresh and flavorful because it is made of the highest quality ingredients," will open in spring 2014 according to the website. I agree. Having outdoor dining would be ideal. We already have two sports bars. I am happy for Elevation Burger though and would love to see more eco- minded businesses. The most disappointing is definitely Panda Express- gross!   more ›

Recreational Amenities Planned to Be Located Near Wegmans at Hilltop Village Center

KLNB Retail Broker Sam Hodges said Wegmans will take over construction of the store starting next month.

Wegmans has proffered to build recreational amenities adjacent to the soon-to-be Hilltop Village Center that will include an adult soccer field, youth baseball field, pavilion, playground, an open play area, and an associated parking lot, according to Linda Waller, director of communications for the Office of Supervisor Jeff McKay. KLNB Retail's part in constructing the new Wegmans — which will be the anchor store for Hilltop Village Center at the corner of Beulah Street and Telegraph Road — is coming to an end. Broker Sam Hodges told Patch Wednesday that the commercial real estate company will "deliver the site to Wegmans next month" to complete the construction of the high-end grocery store. Wegmans, Hilltop Village Set to Open in 2014

Construction is currently taking place on the store at the corner of Telegraph Road and Beulah Street.

The future Hilltop Village Wegmans near the intersection of Telegraph and Beaulah Roads is still just a pile of dirt at the moment, but locals can look forward to the opening in 2014. Wegmans updated its website with the anticipated opening, though it still doesn't provide an exact opening date. In November 2011, much of the site was purchased by Texas-based Weingarten Realty for $13.6 million. Construction began in January 2012, after a lawsuit opposing the site was rejected in the Virginia Supreme Court in August 2011.  In addition to the 140,000 square foot Wegmans building, four retail buildings will be constructed that will add up to a combined 125,000 square feet. Along with Wegmans, confirmed tenants include Hilltop Dental, Massage …

Agree. I don't mind driving to the Wegman's in Woodbridge because there are so many desirable retailers there: Gymboree, REI, DSW, Jos A Banks, ULTA. I am disappointed that the Wegman's in Alexandria will not have a similar array of retailers.   more ›

Wegmans, Hilltop Village Construction Update

The high-end grocery store will open in 2014.

The opening date of the Wegmans at Beaulah Street and Telegraph Road is still TBD, but officials with the real estate company handling the Hilltop Village Center project say construction is progressing on time. Wegmans will be the anchor store of the new Hilltop Village Center, a new shopping and office center operated by Weingarten Realty. Wegmans is scheduled to open in 2014. Neither Wegmans nor Weingarten Realty Property Manager Gene Douglas could provide a more specific opening date. Right now, the closest Wegmans to this area is at 11620 Monument Drive in Fairfax. There are also Wegmans near Dulles, Gainesville and Woodbridge. In addition to Wegmans, the current tenant list is: There are about 20 spaces left for tenants, though some …

Supervisors Move to Expedite Changes to Wegmans Site

Plan changes add a mezzanine to a building at the shopping center, change site's permitted uses.

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Tuesday took action to speed up the approval of proposed changes to the Hilltop Village Center, the future site of Kingstowne's Wegmans. Developers proposed changes that would add a mezzanine to one of the buildings at the shopping center and changing the landscape buffer behind Wegmans to accomodate additional utilities and the widening of Telegraph Road. The changes would also add some new, permitted secondary uses to the site that could allow different businesses to open there than were originally permitted. The amended secondary uses would allow health clubs, child care centers, fast food restaurants, colleges or universities, special education schools, convenience stores and/or veterinary …

Kingstowne Wegmans to Break Ground Next Month

Wegmans is expected to open in 2014.

Construction will begin on the long-awaited Kingstowne Wegmans on April 2, the Washington Business Journal reports. While construction began on the Hilltop Village Center site in January, no construction has occurred so far on the future 140,000 square-foot Wegmans that will anchor Hilltop Village.  "Wegmans builds its owns stores at its own pace," writes Business Journal reporter Michael Neibauer. Wegmans is expected to open in early 2014. Last year, the site, located near Beulah Street and Telegraph Road, was purchased by Texas investment group Weingarten Realty. When the supermarket is built, it could raise property values in surrounding neighborhoods.

Hilltop Village Center will be located at the intersection of Telegraph Road and Beulah Road. 67 percent of Hilltop Village's space has already been leased.
