Desiree Street Townhouse Fire Ruled Accidental

The fire began around 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17. There were no injuries.

The townhouse fire at 7749 Desiree Street on Nov. 17 has been ruled accidental by the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. According to a news release, the fire was caused by “improperly discarded smoking materials on the rear deck." Damage to the home is estimated at $165,000 and the release further states that two adults were displaced. The family declined Red Cross support. The fire started around 8:10 a.m. Upon arriving on the scene, the release states firefighters “encountered heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the top two floors and attic of the middle unit”. Townhouse Fire Near Beulah Street in Kingstowne Area Displaces Four Adults

No injuries reported.

A townhouse fire, called in just after 8:20 Saturday morning in the 7000 block of Desiree Court off of Beulah Street in the Kingstowne area, has displaced four adults, according to Fairfax County fire officials. The fire started at the rear of the three-story home on Desiree Court, according to officials. The fire then extended to the roof and affected two adjoining townhouses. No civilians or fire personnel were injured in the fire, according to Capt. Moreland of the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. Fire units were dispatched to two alarms. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Fire officials were still on the scene Saturday as of about 1 p.m. and Desiree Court was still blocked.
