Terry McAuliffe bumper stickers are now available.
The Lee District Democrats will host its monthly meeting and social at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the residence of Susie Warner located at 6229 Edison Drive. Click here for a map. According to the organization's recent newsletter, all Democrats, liberals and progressives are welcome to attend Thursday's meeting. Bumper stickers for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe will also be available. Featured speaker Earle Mitchell with the Sierra Club will be in attendance. The organization will also be supporting McAuliffe as he opens his Fairfax County headquarters Saturday in Fairfax Station. The group will visit Richmond Wednesday to show support for Democratic delegates and senators.
The Lee District Democrats will be traveling to Richmond Wednesday morning for 2013 Generaly Assembly Appreciation Day, according to the group's recent newsletter. The group will meet in Kingstowne and go to show support for local Democratic delegates and senators. The group will carpool to Richmond on the first Wednesday after crossover — mid-session, by the end of this day, the House must conclude its actions on all House bills and the Senate must have finished its work on Senate bills. After this date, the House can only consider Senate bills and vice versa. During the visit, the group plans to tour the renovated Capitol, visit the galleries of the Virginia House and Senate, visit their members' offices in the General Assembly building…

Local Democrats donned their best Hawaiian shirts Saturday for the annual luau fundraiser hosted by Susie Warner in Rose Hill. The event attracted featured guest former governor and U.S. Senate candidate Tim Kaine, as well as elected officials, including Del. Mark Sickles, state Sen. George Barker, Del. Vivian Watts, Fairfax County Board Chair Sharon Bulova, Lee District Supervisor Jeff McKay, Lee District School Board member Tamara Derenak Koufax and 200 of their supporters.
