The team beat South Lakes, 60-52.
In a tough game Saturday night at Robinson Secondary School, the Edison High School Lady Eagles beat South Lakes High School, 60-52, becoming the northern regional champs. The girls took home the win after overcoming a double-digit deficit in the first half of the game. The team previously won against Centreville High School 58-53, in the regional semi-finals Thursday night, and they also beat Hayfield Secondary School and Wakefield High School in the National District Tournament earlier this month. After Saturday's big win, the team's overall season record is 23-4.

The Edison High School girls' basketball team beat Centreville High School Thursday night, 58-53. They will take on South Lake Saturday at Robinson High School.
The Edison High School girls' basketball team beat Centreville High School 58-53, in the regional semi-finals Thursday night at Robinson Secondary School, taking them into the Northern Region Championship. The Lady Eagles also won against Madison High School Tuesday night, 63-33. The team's overall season record is currently 22-4. They beat Hayfield Secondary School and Wakefield High School in the National District Tournament earlier this month, but lost the district championship against Mount Vernon High School, 63-77. The team will play South Lake at 6 p.m. Saturday at Robinson. Tickets for the game are $7 at the door.

Edison loses Northern Region title to Westfield; will face Petersburg at VCU state quarterfinal on Friday
Coaches in all sports bandy about the term “game-changer.” But all too frequently, those coaches don’t know the true definition of the term. Sure, a football team might have a thousand-yard running back, or a baseball team might have a serious power threat. But it takes something out of the ordinary for a player to truly deserve to be called “game-changer.” Westfield’s Zach Elcano, all 6-feet, 11-inches of him, proved himself worthy of that label Monday night when the Bulldogs imposed their will on Edison in the second half and ran away with the Northern Region title, 62-49. The scrappy Eagles—led once again by the outstanding inside play of Tyrone Mackall—made a game of it as long as they could, trailing 22-21 at the half and fighting …
