FCPD Uses Electronic Signs for Tips in Hit and Run
The Fairfax County Police Department are currently investigating a hit and run in which a 16-year-old boy was injured. The police are seeking assistance from the public.
The Fairfax County Police Department recently placed electronic sign boards in the area where a hit and run occurred Friday night. Police are currently seeking information about the striking vehicle or the driver. FCPD's preliminary investigation determined that a red minivan was traveling south on Telegraph Road and entered the left turn lane to turn left onto Broadmoor Street in front of Hayfield Secondary School. The minivan hit a 16-year-old boy who was walking in the crosswalk in that intersection. Police say the minivan may have sustained damage to the front end, and the victim was transported to a nearby hospital with what were believed to be serious but non-life threatening injuries.
