FCPD Uses Electronic Signs for Tips in Hit and Run

The Fairfax County Police Department are currently investigating a hit and run in which a 16-year-old boy was injured. The police are seeking assistance from the public.

The Fairfax County Police Department recently placed electronic sign boards in the area where a hit and run occurred Friday night. Police are currently seeking information about the striking vehicle or the driver. FCPD's preliminary investigation determined that a red minivan was traveling south on Telegraph Road and entered the left turn lane to turn left onto Broadmoor Street in front of Hayfield Secondary School. The minivan hit a 16-year-old boy who was walking in the crosswalk in that intersection. Police say the minivan may have sustained damage to the front end, and the victim was transported to a nearby hospital with what were believed to be serious but non-life threatening injuries. Police Investigate Hit and Run in Franconia

Police are looking for the driver of a red van that hit a 16-year-old.

The Fairfax County Police Department are asking for the public's assistance in locating a vehicle that was involved in a hit and run that seriously injured a 16-year-old boy, according to a news release from police issued Sunday morning. Shortly before 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, police responded to the report of a crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Telegraph Road and Broadmoor Street. FCPD's preliminary investigation determined that a red minivan was traveling south on Telegraph Road and entered the left turn lane to turn left onto Broadmoor Street in front of Hayfield Secondary School.
