Left eastbound lane is currently blocked.
A water main break around 7 a.m. Tuesday on Route 236 and Willow Run Drive has caused road closures in the left eastbound lanes. The right lane of the road is still accessible at this time, according to a Fairfax County Traffic Alert. Another water main break was reported around the same time on northbound Route 1 and North Kings Highway. Two right lanes are currently closed. Delays are expected through morning rush hour. Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes to their destinations.

The road will be closed for more than two hours.
Franconia Road is currently closed both ways between Inwood Drive and Seatrend Way due to an accident involving downed power lines in the roadway, according to Fairfax County Traffic Alert. The area is expected to be closed for more than two hours. Motorists are asked to avoid this area during this time. Roads will reopen Sunday morning.
Northbound Telegraph Road is currently closed between the ramp from northbound Telegraph Road to Eisenhower Avenue and Duke Street to complete construction of the new Telegraph Road bridge over the railroads. According to the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project website, there will be no direct access to the Beltway from Telegraph Road during this time. Construction will be taking place in this area until 8 a.m. Sunday. Motorists are advised to use caution and take alternative routes to reach their destinations. Fairfax Water will be doing utility work Friday evening until early Saturday morning.
The intersection of Telegraph Road and South Kings Highway will be closed Friday starting at 9 p.m. until early Saturday morning. Fairfax Water plans to conduct utility work during this time. Jennifer McCord of the Virginia Department of Transportation said because of the location and the size of the equipment needed to complete the project, the road will be closed and message boards are being installed to inform motorists. McCord said Fairfax Water has established detour routes, and the Fairfax County Police Department will assign an officer to assist with traffic control. Telegraph Road will be closed to install a sanitary sewer line.
Telegraph Road will be closed this weekend due to work related to the construction of Mulligan Road. Telegraph Road will be closed at Piney Run starting at 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday to install a sanitary sewer line. Signs will be set up to direct motorists to a detour. Mulligan Road construction has been steadily progressing over the last few weeks. This week has seen asphalt paving work on Mulligan Road and waterline relocation work at the Pole Road, Old Mill Road and Mulligan Road intersection. Clearing and grubbing work at Woodlawn Plantation and the Friends Meeting House is scheduled to begin on Monday. Paving work on Mulligan Road will continue on Saturday, weather permitting.
