South County beat Hayfield for just the second time in their 10-game history, 56-47 in the opening round of the Pohanka Chantilly Classic Holiday Tournament Tuesday. The Stallions were led by the stellar play of senior forward Nik Biberaj, who finished the game with 19 points and seven rebounds. The smaller Hawks were no match inside for the Stallions' big men. "We were very rusty coming off the break," said South County Coach Wendell Johnson. "But I think it was our full court press that really got us going."
