Parts Stolen from Six Cars at Springfield Park and Ride

Vehicles vandalized Thursday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Catalytic converters were stolen Thursday from six cars in the Park and Ride lot at Old Keene Mill Road and Amherst Avenue in Springfield, Kingstowne Patch reports.  Police say the cars were owned by residents of Springfield, Alexandria and Fairfax Station, and listed the models as: There are currently no suspects.  Anyone with information should contact the police on the non-emergency number 703-691-2131. They also left a 3 series BMW sitting on top of cinder blocks and stole a wheel from an M class Mercedes SUV. I use this lot daily and after these incidents I prefer to leave my cars on the American Legion parking right next to this commuting lot.   more ›

Pellet Gun Attacks Damage Estimated at $15,000

Crime Solvers posts reward for information leading to culprits.

Fairfax County police have estimated that Labor Day weekend shooting attacks on cars in Franconia caused around $15,000 in damage, according to a department press release. The news comes four days after the first attack, on Sunday. Throughout Sunday and Monday, one or more people shot cars in Franconia with a BB or pellet gun. For a list of the targeted streets, click here.  As of Wednesday, police had not released any description of the suspect. Crime Solvers is also offering between $100 and $1,000 for information that helps solve the crime. 54 Franconia Vehicles Vandalized Over Labor Day

Suspects used pellet guns to shoot out windows of cars, no injuries reported.

Police are searching for a suspect or suspects who shot 54 vehicles with a BB or pellet gun over Labor Day weekend in Franconia. On Sunday, Sept. 4, and Monday, Sept. 5, somebody used the gun to shoot vehicles on several streets. No one was injured. Attacked vehicles were parked on the following streets: Police have not released any information about suspects in the shootings. My car was also vandalized with a bb/pellet gun about a week and a half earlier while parked on Ivanhoe Lane near Old Telegraph.   more ›

Police Report: Handicap Ramps Stolen at Edison

In addition to the weekly police report, the Franconia District Station has started issuing more detailed blotters that feature some crimes that aren't included in the other weekly incident summary. We'll run the crimes from the greater Rose Hill area and highlight the most notable ones at the top. Here is the report from July 3 to July 9, 2011. The Fairfax County Police Department and Fairfax County Crime Solvers are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the persons responsible for vandalizing at least 38 vehicles in the Rose Hill area in one night. ----- Was your vehicle vandalized?
