Metro Places Its Officer on Leave Saturday After Shooting in Kingstowne
Metro Transit police officer shot at car thief suspect Saturday morning who left shopping center in Kingstowne.

In what is considered standard procedure, a Metro Transit Police officer has been placed on administrative leave with pay Saturday after he shot at a car thief suspect earlier in the day in a shopping center parking lot off of Van Dorn Street in Kingstowne, according to Metro WMATA spokeswoman Caroline Lukas. Witnesses saw the Metro Transit Police officer shoot at the car thief as he made his escape, she said.
