Courtney Thompson graduated from Northwestern University in 2004 and has been working in television, print and online journalism ever since.  She hails from Tampa, Florida, started her career at the NBC affiliate in Wichita Falls, Texas but now calls Alexandria home.   As a reporter, Courtney has covered everything from a mayoral recall election to the deadly 2008 Super Tuesday tornado outbreak. 

While trained as a journalist, she's always written blogs, articles and personal essays about relationships.  Her passion is looking at the personal and emotional themes that tie us all together, regardless of age, gender, race and geography.

When she's not writing, Courtney likes to read whatever she can get her hands on.  She also enjoys working with kids, traveling, going to the movies and playing fantasy football.  Courtney lives in Alexandria with her wonderful husband Pete!
