Wegmans Construction on Schedule for 2014 Completion

Wegmans to open around the same time as Springfield Town Center.

For the longest time, the Wegmans construction site at the corner of Beulah Street and Telegraph Road was just a pile of dirt. Through the rain and the snow, it seemed that not much progress was being made.

However, construction at the new Hilltop Village Center is moving along according to schedule. Lee District Supervisor Jeff McKay recently told Patch the new shopping center should be ready for business in 2014 as planned.

"Wegmans will open roughly around the same time as the new Springfield Town Center. They told me they're on time," he said. "They have changed their schedule for various internal reasons, but they are still on track."

According to McKay's office, Wegmans previously proffered to build recreational amenities adjacent to the soon-to-be Hilltop Village Center. Telegraph Road is also going through some reconstruction to include turning lanes in preparation for the opening of the shopping center.
