St. Patrick's Day Checkpoint Nets Arrests

One driver arrested for narcotics

The Franconia District DWI sobriety checkpoint netted two arrests.                

The checkpoint, operated by Fairfax County police officers and auxiliary officers from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Thursday night and Friday morning, was set up on the southbound lane of Richmond Highway at Cherwek Drive.

Around 718 vehicles passed through the checkpoint during the three hours it was open. One driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated, one for a narcotics violations. Three summons were issued for traffic violations.
