Police Continue Search for Bus Stop Sexual Assault Perpetrator

Officers canvass area for information on case.

Fairfax County police officers continued to search for the perpetrator of an early-morning sexual assault on Sept. 8, an officer from Franconia District Station said Tuesday.

According to Officer Richard Henry, officers canvassed the area after the sexual assault. Henry was not sure whether a sketch of the assailant would be released.

At 4:30 AM on Sept. 8, a woman waiting at a bus stop on La Vista and Franconia roads was attacked. "The woman reported that someone approached her from behind, grabbed and assaulted her," an alert released by the police reads. The woman sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to INOVA Fairfax.

The assailant is described as male, between 5' 8" and 5' 10", tall, heavy-set, and between 25- and 40-years old. He was dressed in a white shirt and tan cargo pants.
