Police Make New Arrest in Kingstowne Robbery Case

Charges dropped against Sammy Gebrale, initial second suspect

Fairfax County police have arrested a third man allegedly involved in a robbery near Kingstowne Towne Center. Another man arrested earlier in the investigation was not actually involved, they say.

On Thursday, police arrested Kibruysfa Aklilu Degefa, 19, of the 6000 block of Crocus Court in Alexandria. Degefa has been charged with robbery.

Degefa and another teenager, , are accused of stealing a cell phone from a 16-year-old boy as he walked down the street Kingstowne Towne Center on April 23.

Police say that the same evidence that lead police to Degefa also suggested that Sammy Gebrale,  in the robbery, was not actually involved. Charges against Gebrale have been dropped.
