Two Men Arrested in Springfield Larceny

Suspects apprehended with help from K-9 and helicopter units

Fairfax County police arrested two men on Sunday that police say are responsible for larceny in Springfield.

Around 1:20 a.m. on Sunday morning, a caller told police about two suspicious men in the 6500 block of Lee Valley Drive. When police arrived, they discovered the two men allegedly trying to remove wheels from a parked vehicle.

The two men ran away as police approached them. After a foot chase and deployments of the K-9 and helicopter teams, both men were apprehended.

The suspects, both charged with one count of grand larceny, are Elvis P. Mendoza, 25, of Woodbridge, and Jose E. Campos, 28, of Manassas. Both were transported to the Adult Detention Center.

The tires were returned to the victim, an 18-year-old Springfield man.
