FCPS Eliminates Hayfield Bus Stops

Parents concerned about the elimination of bus stops around Hayfield Secondary have been voicing their concerns to Fairfax Couny Public Schools officials.

FCPS Transportation Director Linda Farbry received one call from a parent concerned about her daughter's safety walking to school, and she estimated other Fairfax government officials are receiving calls as well.

FCPS instituted the stops, listed below, after concerns were raised about students crossing Hayfield Road without pedestrian crossing lights. After pedestrian lights were installed, Farbry said, there was no reason to continue offering bus service to the stops.

All of the eliminated stops are within one-and-a-half mile from Hayfield, the maximum distance that does not require FCPS to provide bus service.
